The Double Arrow Farms cattle operation was started in 1982. Embryo transplant and AI breeding programs have been utilized in an effort to select the best genetics available to improve the quality and performance of our cows. Our herd consists of approximately 200 cows, including some purebred Angus and purebred Simmental cattle. We have both a spring calving herd and a fall calving herd so we are able to provide older breeding bulls for the larger, rougher grazing areas.
At Double Arrow Farms all our herd sires are homozygous black and homozygous polled. Our goal is to produce bulls that have great dispositions and our emphasis is to breed for calving ease, high maternal milk, high weaning and yearling weights, and carcass quality. Over the years we have been able to increase our weaning and yearling weights while at the same time reduce the size of the mother cows through selected genetics.
I feel we have a great selection of bulls on hand again this year, including purebred Angus, purebred homozygous black/homozygous polled Simmental, and Sim-Angus composite bulls. We hope that through our extensive breeding efforts that we may continue to help improve your herd genetics and performance as well.
Please take time to stop by and take a look at these bulls and bring along a friend.
Thanks and take care,
